Martin & Bettina Günther
Martin and Bettina Günther grew up speaking three languages — German, English and Afrikaans — and with a deep connection to hunting, horses, farming and the Namibian outdoors. Today, they live and work on their 13,832-acre hunting farm, Alt Duwisib, situated in southern Namibia on the edge of the Namib Desert, where they combine cattle and horse farming with their passion for ethical and sustainable hunting.
Their hunting operation is built around two very different hunting areas. Alt Duwisib in the south offers an authentic wilderness experience in rugged, arid terrain, while their central Namibian hunting area provides an abundance of wildlife and a completely different landscape and hunting environment. Together, these areas allow guests to experience the remarkable diversity of Namibia while enjoying a truly personal hunting safari.
For Martin and Bettina, hunting is about far more than simply harvesting an animal. They believe in ethical, responsible and sustainable hunting, with respect for the wildlife, the land and the traditions that make hunting an important part of conservation in Namibia. Every safari is carefully planned and conducted with a strong emphasis on fair-chase principles, responsible wildlife management and creating a genuine connection between the hunter and the environment.
One of the experiences that sets their operation apart is hunting on horseback. Combining their passion for horses with their knowledge of hunting, they offer guests the opportunity to experience the Namibian wilderness from the saddle. Horseback hunting provides a unique and traditional way of hunting, allowing hunters to cover the terrain quietly and experience wildlife and the landscape from an entirely different perspective. It is a challenging, immersive and truly memorable experience for those looking for something beyond a conventional hunting safari.
They deliberately choose quality over quantity. Rather than operating as a mass hunting-tourism business, they offer only a limited number of hunting safaris each year. This allows Martin and Bettina to personally invest their time, knowledge and attention in every guest and to create an experience that is tailored to the individual hunter.
Their aim is simple: to share the real Namibia — its landscapes, wildlife, people, horses and traditions — and to provide an authentic hunting experience built on respect, conservation, sustainability and personal hospitality.

Bettina Günther
Born in 1985, Bettina developed a deep love for horses, nature and the outdoors from an early age. Growing up on her parents’ guest farm, hospitality quickly became a natural part of her life. From a young age, she learned what it means to welcome guests, create a warm atmosphere and make people feel at home.
Today, Bettina’s greatest passion lies with horses. She is actively involved in the breeding, training and care of their horses and enjoys sharing this passion with guests. She is also a keen and enthusiastic hunter, with a particular appreciation for hunting fresh meat for the household and kitchen.
Behind the scenes, Bettina is the heart of the hospitality side of the operation. She prepares meals for guests, takes care of the administration and helps ensure that every detail of their stay is well looked after. Her combination of hospitality, horses, hunting and farm life brings a personal and authentic touch to every safari.
